About the event
The Minnie's Island Community Conservancy was recently awarded a mini grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust. Funds are to be used to plant more trees on the island, engage local residents, and increase community awareness about the health of our natural resources. All of which align with MICC's mission.
MICC recently purchased 15 new oak trees and several rolls of wire mesh that will be used to build tree protection cages. Your support transporting the trees and materials to the island would be greatly appreciated.
If you can join us, please meet at Lock House 8 at 08:45 AM on 3/15/25 for intros and a brief orientation.
Be sure to have long-sleeved shirt/pants, work gloves, sturdy footwear, safety glasses, sun protection, water and snacks. If you own one, bring a lifejacket as well. If not, MICC has spare PFDs that you are welcome to borrow.
