Minnie's Island Volunteer Day - April 20, 2024

Recently, are you feeling more rested, alert, energetic and joyful? It's probably due to your internal biological clock aligning with the extended daylight hours. Which means you are likely experiencing "Spring Fever”.  But don't worry, be happy!  Minnie’s Island Community Conservancy has just the right treatment plan for you.

We are seeking a few first time volunteers to help our Natural Resources team transplant bluebells that are growing along the social trails on Minnie's Island to other areas, as well as to do some light gardening work. Additionally, we need a few past or new volunteers to assist the Physical Facilities team with ongoing maintenance and repair work on the cabin and deck.  A nature walk/tour of the island, light refreshments and lunch will also be provided.

Space is limited to 6 people due to the logistics of transporting volunteers to/from the island. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience. Students in grades 6 – 12 are welcome and will earn SSL credits.

We will meet at Lock 8 at 08:30 to collect life vests and paddles. Then we'll walk about 100 yards to the launch site where the canoes will be located.  The ride to the island is about 10 minutes.
