Minnie's Island - Seedling Planting

We sincerely appreciate the community volunteers who braved last fall and winter weather conditions to help remove acres of invasive plant and vine species from Minnie's Island.  Their efforts and high level of enthusiasm were inspiring.  Now that spring has sprung it is time to begin the rehabilitation phase by planting about 200 bare root seedlings on the island.  We expect to receive the seedlings on April 5 and to plant them April 6 through April 9, between 08:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

We are in need of 4 - 6 volunteers each day who can devote 3 - 4 hours of time and effort to the cause.  Volunteers will work in teams of two, planting and caging seedlings as guided by Rob Bragan, Natural Resources expert.  If you are interested in joing us, please sign up for one or more days via this site.  You are welcome to arrive at your convenience.  However, please email zio_dallas@yahoo.com the specific time for each day that you will participate so we can prepare an efficient plan for transportation and other logictics.  We would appreciate it too if you shared this event with friends and family who might be interested.
